Nickel Alloy 201 Flange is used to connect pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment to form a piping system. Grade 201 Flanges also provide easy access for cleaning, inspection, or modification. It is usually welded or screwed. Flanged joints are made by bolting together two flanges with a gasket between them to provide a seal.
Nickel alloy 201 is having properties similar to that of nickel 200 and it is a commercially pure wrought alloy, to avoid embrittlement by inter-granular carbon at high temperatures it has a lower carbon content. Depending on the concentration of the solution and temperature alloy 201 is resistant to mineral acids. Grade 201 is also resistant to alkalis and acids, and dry gases at room temperature.
