Titanium Gr2 Threaded Fittings Applications
Ti Gr 2 forged threaded fittings are mainly used for joining piping systems for small pipe diameters (Small Bore Piping); it is one of the oldest methods generally for pipes where the nominal diameter is NPS 2 or smaller. Grade 2 Threaded piping is commonly used in low-cost, noncritical applications such as fire protection, domestic water, and industrial cooling water systems. UNS R50400 Threaded Tee is used at places where welding is not permitted as they do not require welding.
Titanium Grade 2 is pure alpha titanium and is the most widely used titanium alloy in all product forms for industrial service because of its moderate strength and excellent corrosion resistance and formability. Grade 2 is stronger than Grade 1 but slightly weaker than Grade 3 and it is equally resistant to corrosion as Grade 1. This material is also non-magnetic and it offers an excellent balance of moderate strength and reasonable ductility.
