Inconel 690 Threaded Fittings Applications
Alloy 690 forged threaded fittings are mainly used for joining piping systems for small pipe diameters (Small Bore Piping); it is one of the oldest methods generally for pipes where the nominal diameter is NPS 2 or smaller. Grade 690 Threaded piping is commonly used in low-cost, noncritical applications such as fire protection, domestic water, and industrial cooling water systems. UNS N06690 Threaded Tee is used at places where welding is not permitted as they do not require welding.
Inconel 690 is a nickel-chromium alloy. It has high resistance to hot gases or oxidizing chemicals due to the presence of high chromium content. Alloy 690 is a high chromium content version of INCONEL® alloy 600 with excellent resistance to many oxidizing acids and salts and some resistance to sulfidation at elevated temperatures.
