Hastelloy C22 Threaded Fittings Applications
Alloy C22 forged threaded fittings are mainly used for joining piping systems for small pipe diameters (Small Bore Piping); it is one of the oldest methods generally for pipes where the nominal diameter is NPS 2 or smaller. Grade C22 Threaded piping is commonly used in low-cost, noncritical applications such as fire protection, domestic water, and industrial cooling water systems. UNS N06022 Threaded Tee is used at places where welding is not permitted as they do not require welding.
Hastelloy C-22 is a nickel-based alloy with high nickel (56%), chromium (22%), and molybdenum (13%). C-22 is used in severely corrosive media with high chloride and temperature applications. C-22 is a great alternative when super austenitic stainless steels (AL-6XN®, 904L, and 254 SMO®) and duplex stainless steels (2205 and 2507) will not withstand extremely aggressive media.
